| American Vogue is published monthly in the USA by Conde Nast. Anna Wintour (1988-current) is the Editor in Chief and the Creative Director is Grace Coddington. Advertising is at a maximun. It uses diverse photographers such as Irving Penn, Raymond Meier, Steven Meisel, Arthur Elgort, Mario Testino, Patrick Demarchelier, Craig McDean, Steven Klein, and the team Mert Alas & Marcus Piggot. Vogue enjoys a very large readership in the US and abroad. All of the inside photo editorials are original at print time, though often reprinted elsewhere. Diana Vreeland (1962-1971), Grace Mirabella (1971-1988), and Edna Woolman Chase (1909-1952) have been past Editors. Vogue USA began publishing in 1892; Conde Nast took over in 1909. Vogue did not begin using photography on covers regularly until 1935. | PHOTO CREDITS |
