CEASED PRINT DUE TO LOW ADVERTISING VOLUME AND LACK OF COMMITMENT BY THE PUBLISHER: British Nova was published monthly in the UK by European Magazines Ltd. Jeremy Langmead was the Editor and Balwant Ahira the Acting Art Director. Nova used several photographers for their covers, and as a result did not gain an established cover look. In my opinion, the close-up covers were the best and most distinctive. Juergen Teller, Thomas Schenk, Nicolas Moore, Nick Haymes were regular contributers, but they also used several up and coming photographers. Nova began publishing with the much anticipated June 2000 issue with Ana Claudia Michels on the cover and died after only thirteen monthlies. Nova was originally published in the 60's and 70's with a more political slant, but the current reincarnation was primarily a women's fashion/lifestyles magazine with an attempt at internationalism. |
